Here are some photos that have been recently declassified.    The hardtop 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme has been under development for longer than most US defense programs.   I have owned the car since 1987.   In was taken off the road in 1988 and did not return until 1999.      The original owner was my grandmother and she ruled the highways in this car from 1972 to 1986.    She left us in 1999 and this page is dedicated to her.  In fact, many people in her neighborhood offered to buy this car but she let them know she was saving it for her grandson.   Lucky guy, eh?    She owned a long list of nice cars in her 65 years of accident free driving, but this was one of the nicest.   It was given to her as a gift from a 'friend'.    She said she wanted a yellow car, and she went over to Valley and Bowe Oldsmobile in Woodbury NJ, and this beauty was sitting on the lot.

The convertible below it is a new project.   Hopefully it will be completed before another 11 years pass.     When I decided to purchase another Oldsmobile, my last choice was yellow since I already own two other vehicles that are yellow.   I love yellow, but thought people may start to wonder about a guy with three yellow vehicles..... well maybe not in this city........   Mark my words, if I ever buy another yellow car, it will be a 1972 DeTomaso Pantera...... (one Ford product worthy of my garage space)   Well maybe a Rally 350.    This deal was a good one and  people say things come in threes................. And yes, for you fellow engineers out there, my license plate does read Y1.972K.   For you non engineers, that is scientific notation for a bad joke.     I know this is probably not funny, but then again, the only thing harder than getting your last name as a domain name is getting the year of your car on the license plate.   This is my angle on this problem.......and it kind of has a nice ring to it.

Grandmother had good taste.  This car replaced a 1961 Impala.  That was a nice car.....for a Chevy   =)

My favorite view of my car, and one of the more common views seen by other drivers in NJ.

Of course, when you drive a classic Oldsmobile, you only open the hood to show off the engine or polish something.   Its not like those Rocket engines actually break very often.........In fact, this car sat for 11 years with a full tank of Shell Premium gas.    It started up with a fresh battery.  No kidding.   Either Oldsmobile, Shell or me have a deal with the devil.   Probably Shell.......

This photo will indicate one cosmetic thing I have to complete.  I need to adjust the radiator support to narrow the gap between the hood and the nose.  I have noticed many 1972s with this condition.    The fenders are hung well, or is the proper term well hung?    I do not want to move the fenders.  Any advice for this, please email me

Ahhh, nothing like an original Oldsmobile 15X7 bolt on center cap rim.  These are original Oldsmobile, but I understand that there are reproductions now. Y1.972K

Another shot I like.   GM made many beautiful cars, but I don't think any look as good from the back as a 1970-1972 Cutlass.   But what do I know?

All original and nearly flawless.   Not show, but you really have to look for the imperfections.    Thieves take note, there is a nice CD player in the glove box that goes nicely with the 38 special the owner is known to carry.    Car now has Rally Pack gauge and Tick Tock Tach.

I just finished detailing the bottom and frame with POR-15.     These pictures show some surface rust, prior to this painting, but overall this car has a beautiful undercarriage.      I also detailed my head with POR-15 and had to shave off all my hair.    Photos below show that.   I know what permanent means!!!

I would like to say I got this one from a little old lady from Pasadena, but that is not exactly right.   She wasn't exactly old or little.   She lived in Palm Desert.   Car was originally from Minneapolis and purchased at Jim Lupient Oldsmobile.     This picture was taken in San Jose at my friend Kelly's house during my return trip.    The kid didn't come with the car.   Note my buzzed head complements of POR-15.    If you don't know what POR-15 is, just know not to get it on your head.

Car is really straight.   Does have some bubbles starting in the rear corner of the fenders, but it is nothing at all.    Quarters are nice.    Original paint.   57K miles when I purchased it.    Runs great, has A/C that works and has a tilt wheel.   Car is getting bucket seats (bench is old and beat with bad springs), console, rally pack and NOS cutout bumper and 15X7 rims like my hardtop.   Nothing but Oldsmobile accessories of course!
